Spring Cleaning

I am plunging into spring cleaning mode a little early, today starting with the refrigerator, giving it a good cleaning inside and out.
Then I plan to continue around the kitchen, top to bottom, decluttering, organizing and cleaning.
After the kitchen, I'll tackle each room until the house is complete.

I'm quite enjoying this full-time housewife thing I have going on. I'm cooking, grocery-shopping, the whole deal...these are things that my husband had took over because he likes to cook, but I'm home now and he could use a break.

I'm finding that this is where I want to be right now, taking care of my home and my family and, really, my own health, because my priorities are in the order that I want them to be in...leading to much less mental turmoil and a happier me.

You know that ol' saying right? "If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.'

Right now, I'm happy and that is a feeling I plan on holding on to for all of us.

Welcome 2010!

{Graphic courtesy of The Graphics Fairy
I wish you and yours a Happy New Year! May 2010 bring you your heart's desire.

As I prepare for next year mentally, I'm going through and clearing up some of my "cyber clutter", meaning I'm carefully going through my subscribed RSS feeds and whittling down my list to include only the ones that are relevant to where I am at this point. I need to be ruthless, peeps, so I can actually keep the list manageable and maybe stay up to date on my blog reading this year. {I use Google Reader, by the way}.

Now, the reason I mention this is that some of the blogs I am subscribed to have their feeds set to only show a short preview of their post and you have to click on their link to see the full post at their blog. Sometimes I don't have time for that. Sometimes I'm reading on my iPhone. Sometimes, some blogs load very slowwwwwly. So, I'm suggesting that you keep this in mind when making your RSS feeds settings; you may be keeping readers away by insisting they come directly to your blog rather than being able to see your full post in their feed reader of choice.

{Old Navy} $19 Jeans

Have you picked up your pair of $19 jeans at Old Navy this week? I tend to get a lot of my "basics" from Old Navy online, like tanks, tees and jeans.
I ordered the pair below in the grey slate shown and also in the blue black {a very dark blue}. I still intend on getting a grey suede boot or bootie which is why I went with the skinny jean. Skinny jeans also look nice with a flat.

Along with that I ordered this black belted cardigan and a couple of pairs of their $5 wedge flip flops {I tend to wear these around the house and on casual out-and-about days year round}.

Dreaming of Fall

Nordstrom
I won't start singing Nancy Sinatra on ya, but I'm in the mood for a little fall fashion and first on my list is a pair of grey, slouchy boots. I like this Steve Madden pair above and they're under a $100.

I"m "blessed" with humongous calves, so I'll have to break out ye olde measuring tape for these ones, but, if anything, at least the bootie is still around for this fall.

But a slouchy suede boot would be oh, so Stevie, wouldn't it? Her music seems to be on my mind lately.
